Silver Stream Shelters manufactures out of Altona, Manitoba and Neche, North Dakota. Their factory produces over 450 shelter kits each year, distributed through 29 dealers across North America. They're one of the few mid-tier ag-focused brands with three different frame platforms in the catalogue: wood-laminate (glulam-style timber) arch, single steel arch, and steel truss arch in 30 to 65 foot clear spans. Powder-coated frames in matched colours, 12.5oz fabric (heavier than the 12oz on most mid-tier kits), and a manufacture-to-install lead time of 3–4 weeks plus 2–3 days on site.

Yes — every model in the Silver Stream catalogue. Most of our Silver Stream work comes from customers who bought through one of their 29 dealers and the dealer doesn't install west of Manitoba, or doesn't have crew availability when the kit arrives. The buildings are well-engineered and well-documented; we install them as quickly as any other mid-tier brand on the market.

Wood-laminate arch builds run a half-day faster on the frame stage than steel-truss versions of the same footprint — the timber arches set faster than truss assemblies. The fabric work is identical regardless of frame style.

If your application is ag or hobby-farm and you want better-than-budget without paying premium pricing, Silver Stream lands well. A mid-size fabric building is realistically a 250–400 man-hour project for a first-time crew — frame, truss alignment, cover tensioning, doors, and the re-dos in between. That means pulling two or three of your people off operations for weeks, or having our crew hand you a finished building in days. At a loaded $40/hour, 300 diverted hours is roughly $12,000 of payroll producing zero revenue — before the rented manlift sits on the clock, and before another season passes with the kit still in the crate. Wood-laminate arch is their signature — a glulam-style timber arch with fabric over it. Lighter than steel and visually warmer; common in horse and cattle barns. Single steel arch is the budget option; one continuous tube per arch, fast to install but lower snow load capacity than the truss version. Steel truss arch is the workhorse — two parallel steel members with bracing between them, the strongest of the three and the configuration we recommend for ag and industrial use on the Prairies. All three install at the same flat rate by footprint.
Two things. First, the 12.5oz fabric is heavier and stiffer than the standard 12oz on most mid-tier kits — it's a better cover but slower to deploy. We tension in three passes instead of two on Silver Stream covers. Second, the powder-coat finish on the steel frames is excellent for corrosion resistance but unforgiving of sling marks; we pad every contact point during the lift and don't drag trusses across the pad. Customers see the difference two years later when other crews have left scuffs.
30'×40' through 30'×60' runs 2 days; 40'×60' runs 2.5–3 days; 40'×80' runs 3 days; 50'×100' runs 4–5 days; 60-wide and 65-wide commercial sizes run 5–7 days depending on door configuration.
