None of that replaces a crew with manlifts on your site. Diamond's dealer network is broad but not every dealer offers installation, and on the larger sizes — 40-wide and up — even competent owner-builders struggle without the right equipment. Most of our Diamond work comes from customers who bought through the Diamond dealer network and the dealer doesn't install in their area. Diamond's kits are well-documented and forgiving to assemble, which makes them one of the faster kits we install once the right equipment is on site.
Honest answer: it depends on size.
Up to 160 feet clear span. That's larger than most fabric brands offer. We've installed Diamond up to 80 feet wide ourselves; the 100, 120, and 160-wide commercial structures are still in Diamond's catalogue and we'll install them, but we plan a longer crew window, more equipment, and usually a multi-pass cover-deploy strategy. At 100-wide and above you're in commercial-warehouse territory — the install starts looking more like a steel-building project than a fabric-shelter project, and the engineering review on the foundation gets more careful.

That means pulling two or three of your people off operations for weeks, or having our crew hand you a finished building in days. At a loaded $40/hour, 300 diverted hours is roughly $12,000 of payroll producing zero revenue — before the rented manlift sits on the clock, and before another season passes with the kit still in the crate. For 15-, 20-, and 30-wide units, yes — Diamond's documentation is clear, the kit ships well-organized, and tech support answers the phone. We've seen plenty of competent owner-installs on these sizes. For 40-wide and up, we'd recommend a crew. The truss assemblies get heavy, the cover deploy needs multiple people on lifts simultaneously, and an anchoring mistake at 40-wide costs you a windstorm later. Diamond's 12oz PE fabric is forgiving on tension but unforgiving of crooked anchors.

Honestly, not much. Diamond is one of the more straightforward kits we install. The two things to watch for: the cover material is sized at slightly looser tolerances than premium brands, so we tension a hair tighter than spec to keep the panels from flapping in Prairie wind; and the dealer-supplied hardware can vary in completeness depending on which dealer you bought through. We carry a backup hardware tray. Otherwise these go up fast.
15'×30' through 30'×40' runs 1.5–2 days; 30'×60' runs 2 days; 40'×60' runs 2.5 days; 40'×80' runs 3 days; 50'×100' runs 4 days; 60- and 80-wide commercial sizes run 5–8 days.
