Buy it for the price and the footprint; plan the assembly like the manual will not save you, because it may not exist.
Auction buyers, bargain hunters, and operators who need serious square footage at the lowest sticker on the market. These kits move through IronPlanet, GovPlanet, eBay, Kijiji, and Canadian wholesale dealers — often listed as “Gold Mountain,” sometimes as Suihe, and regularly as a no-name “Storage Shelter” with a Chinese-language manual in the crate. If you bought a galvanized-frame fabric building at auction and cannot find the manufacturer, odds are good you own one.
Suihe Group (Qingdao Suihe Kelley Industry Group) has manufactured fabric shelters since 1995 and is the largest fabric tent manufacturer in mainland China, exporting to Canada, the US, Australia, and Germany. Gold Mountain is its retail brand; the same factory also white-labels for a long list of resellers. This is the factory behind a large share of the budget fabric-building market in North America — one plant, many stickers.
Single- and double-truss fabric buildings from roughly 20×30 up to 60×100 and beyond, in dome and peak profiles, plus container-mounted shelters that span shipping containers. Common configurations we see in Alberta: 20×30×12 single-truss rounds, 30×40 and 30×65 storage sizes, 40×80×20 galvanized-tube kits with 11 oz fabric, and 50×100×25 double-truss PVC at full industrial scale. The container shelters are an auction favourite because they ship compact and use the containers as the foundation.
Covers are 1000×1000 denier polyester-scrim PVC or PE with UV treatment. Manufacturer-stated service life runs 7–10 years on the lighter PE and 12–15 years on the heavier commercial PVC — when the install is done right and the early-life re-tighten happens. That re-tighten is the difference-maker on this brand: the covers seat over the first weeks, and skipping the follow-up tension pass is how a decent cover becomes a flapping one.
Hot-dip galvanized steel tube with bolted connections at every joint — no welding on site, which is genuinely assembly-friendly. Manufacturer-stated ratings are typically around 50 mph wind and roughly 41 lb/sq ft snow (check the sheet for your exact model). The frames go up straight if the base is squared; a rushed layout telegraphs errors all the way to the ridge, and the bolt-everything design means mistakes multiply the redo work.
Missing or short hardware counts are common enough that we treat them as the default plan, not a surprise. Documentation ranges from a decent English manual to a bare parts list to nothing at all. Replacement parts from Qingdao take weeks when anyone answers. Our crews do not rely on the manual — we identify the building by frame type, truss design, fabric weight, and bolt pattern, carry common hardware stock, and keep the build moving.
There is no Canadian warranty infrastructure to speak of. Whatever paper exists sits with the factory or an importer, support is overseas, and claims across an ocean on an auction purchase are not a plan. Price that reality in: part of the discount on the sticker is the absence of anyone to call.
This is the price floor of the fabric-building market, and at auction the deals can be genuinely strong — new-in-crate kits regularly clear well below comparable catalogue brands. Compare honestly against the published tiers: TMG’s catalogue and MSB’s published list (30×40 kit at $8,888, verified August 2026) buy Canadian support and real warranty terms; the Suihe/Gold Mountain discount buys square footage and self-reliance. Both are rational purchases — for different buyers.
Practically none once the kit is crated — you are buying what is in the container. Size selection happens at order or auction time, and the white-label channel means the same building may appear under three names at three prices. Compare by dimensions and fabric weight, never by brand name.
Cost-driven buyers with realistic expectations: hay, equipment, and bulk storage where maximum footprint per dollar wins, and where the owner either has assembly capability or budgets professional install from the start. Auction-savvy operators who inspect before bidding do well with these kits.
Anyone who needs hand-holding, fast parts, or a warranty that answers the phone. Also a poor fit for buyers who will attempt a 50-wide double-truss with the family and a loader tractor on a windy weekend — that is precisely the build that ends up half-standing in our stalled-builds queue.
We install more Suihe-family buildings than almost anything else, because the auction channel keeps supplying them and the missing-manual problem keeps calling us. The buildings themselves are better than their reputation: honest steel, serviceable covers, sensible bolt-up design. The brand’s real product is ambiguity — three names, thin documentation, no local support — and the fix is a crew that has opened enough of these crates to not need the paperwork.
