Chery Industrial sells out of cherygroup.ca and cheryindustrial.com, including the Gold Mountain line that they distribute under that label. The Canadian-spec models are rated for 1.8 kN/m² snow and 0.2 kN/m² wind — realistic Prairie numbers, not aspirational ones. Lineup spans Basic (5-foot arc spacing), Basic+ (4-foot, stiffer), Double-Truss Round M (premium), and container shelters that twist-lock onto sea cans. Every model ships kit-only — assembly is on you. Flat install rate by size: $8,000 for a 30'×40', $8,000 for a 40'×80'.
Chery Industrial operates in Canada through cherygroup.ca and in the US through cheryindustrial.com. They sell their own Chery-branded line plus distribute the Gold Mountain shelters — same kits, different label, sometimes different pricing depending on the channel. Their Canadian models are spec'd specifically for our climate: 1.8 kN/m² snow load, 0.2 kN/m² wind, and frame steel selected for cold-weather brittle-fracture margins rather than the warmer-climate spec the US models inherit.
Every Chery shelter ships kit-only — 14-gauge or 16-gauge galvanized steel frame depending on model and size, PE or PVC fabric depending on tier, mechanical roll-up doors with hand winches, and built-in side man doors on most configurations. The warranty is 3 years on the frame and 2 years on the fabric for single-truss PVC models; honest for the price point, but well below what the premium Canadian manufacturers offer. They include assembly instructions but no installation crew. We've installed every model in the catalogue.
This is the single most underestimated spec on Chery's catalogue. Tighter arc spacing means more arches per linear foot, which means more frame assembly time on install day. We add roughly 20–25% to the frame-assembly portion of a Basic+ build versus a same-size Basic. The cover deploy itself is the same — same panel, same tensioning. So a 30'×40' Basic might be a 1.5-day build while a 30'×40' Basic+ is a solid 2-day build.
Where the spacing pays off is in service life. Tighter arcs share wind and snow loading across more attachment points. The Basic+ flexes less in 70 km/h gusts and pools snow less aggressively in heavy wet snow events. Over a 10-year lifespan the cover lasts longer and the frame welds see less cyclic stress. If your application is going to spend a winter in a wind corridor, the extra frame work on install day is the cheapest insurance you'll buy.

The twist-lock onto sea cans is the genuine engineering advantage in Chery's catalogue — no welding, no concrete, no permanent ground anchoring. For 20- and 30-wide container shelters mounted onto a pair of 40-foot containers, two competent helpers and a long weekend can do it, provided two things are true: your containers are level to each other within roughly an inch over the length of the shelter, and you have crane or telehandler access during the cover deploy step.
For 40-wide and up, get a crew. Working on top of containers during cover tensioning has a different geometry than working from the ground — the access angles, the safety margins, and the synchronization required across multiple workers all change. We've done dozens of these and we still take the safety brief seriously every time.

That means pulling two or three of your people off operations for weeks, or having our crew hand you a finished building in days. At a loaded $40/hour, 300 diverted hours is roughly $12,000 of payroll producing zero revenue — before the rented manlift sits on the clock, and before another season passes with the kit still in the crate. The kits are well-engineered for the price point but the "DIY-shipped" positioning is doing a lot of work — we get plenty of calls from buyers who started the install themselves and stopped at the cover-deploy step. Same flat-rate pricing as every other brand we install.

For most Prairie applications we recommend the Basic+ if it's in the budget — the difference shows up the first time you get a 70 km/h gust.
Better-engineered than most of the imported double-truss kits we install. Chery rates the Round M for 1.8 kN/m² snow load and 0.2 kN/m² wind, which is realistic Prairie spec rather than aspirational. The frame steel is 14- or 16-gauge depending on size, and the truss connections are bolted (not welded), which makes them honest to install. The cover is heavier than entry-level Chery kits, so plan on the same crew size and timing as a comparable mid-tier brand.
The container shelter line uses twist-lock mounting onto your sea cans — no welding required, which is the genuine advantage. Two competent helpers and a long weekend can do the 20- and 30-wide units onto a pair of 40-foot containers, provided your containers are level to each other within an inch and you have crane or telehandler access for the cover deploy. For 40-wide and up, get a crew. The geometry of working on top of two cans during cover tensioning is the part owner-builders underestimate.
Basic 20- and 22-wide shelters run 1–1.5 days; Basic+ 30'×40' runs 2 days; 30'×60' runs 2.5 days; 40'×60' Double-Truss Round M runs 2.5–3 days; 40'×80' runs 3 days; 50'×100' runs 4 days. Container shelter installs add half a day to position and twist-lock onto the cans before the build proper starts.
