Start with the structure, not just the brand.
Fabric buildings with the same footprint can have different roof shapes, truss arrangements and sidewall heights. A kit bought through a dealer and a similar-looking auction building may need different material quantities and support details.
DrySpan™ 6R20 is six-inch fibreglass insulation with white protective facing, supplied as a separate layer inside suitable framing. Its R-20 rating describes the material; the building’s complete envelope determines installed performance.
Useful details for an existing building
- The manufacturer or seller, model number and original paperwork, if available.
- Width, length, peak height and any straight wall or raised foundation height.
- Whether the frame begins at the ground, on a wall or on containers.
- Roof and sidewalls, one end wall or both: which areas you want covered.
- Existing liners, doors, lights, heaters and anything that affects interior access or clearance.
You can begin without all of this. Choose measurement help in the enquiry form and tell us what information is missing. Photos and drawings can be discussed during follow-up.
Keep the outer fabric and insulation separate.
DrySpan™ is held by a suitable support arrangement rather than bonded to the building cover. Sections can be detached if future access is needed, with disturbed supports and facing seals reinstated afterward.
Plan the finished clearances before hanging insulation. Door operation, equipment height and access to the frame need to work with the new interior layer. An opaque insulated roof also changes the daylight entering a fabric building, so include lighting in the plan.
Buying a kit but haven’t installed it yet?
Discuss the insulation scope while you plan the building. Agree how the roof and sidewalls will be covered and what supports are needed before the insulation is ordered. Ask about a building package, installation and insulation supply →
Auction building or missing model number?
The seller’s name, approximate dimensions and any label on the frame or crate are useful starting points. Do not choose a supposedly equivalent model just to complete the form. Select the auction or unknown-brand option and describe what you have.
Choose thermal insulation or a liner for the actual problem.
If you are planning heated use, ask about the DrySpan™ thermal-insulation package. If condensation dripping onto stored equipment is the concern, describe the moisture sources and ventilation too. The 400g inner liner is a separate product with no R-value claim.
