Neither column carries a price, and that's the category working as designed — both companies price the engineering into the project. The comparison you can make from published data is structural: Accu-Steel's headline is the 20-year steel-and-fabric warranty, the longest paper term we see anywhere; Cover-Tech's headline is the certification stack, which no other brand on our install list matches. Each brand is missing the other's headline number: Accu-Steel doesn't publish its fabric weight, Cover-Tech doesn't publish its frame warranty.
Both ship at the consistency level the engineered tier should: missing hardware is uncommon on either (under 5% of Cover-Tech installs have needed substitutions; Accu-Steel's arch system has fewer field-fastener points to run short in the first place), and both include engineering-grade drawings fit for permit submissions. The assembly differences come from geometry, not quality.
Accu-Steel's hoop frames go together faster than gabled equivalents at the same size — fewer connections — but cover deployment over the arch is more equipment-intensive, with cherry-picker work at the apex that can hand back the time the frame saved. Anchor loads also distribute differently on an arch, so we work strictly from the supplied engineering drawings rather than gabled-building habit. Cover-Tech's welded assemblies are stiff and true, and they repay a properly built pad: we hold the foundation to ±¾-inch across the footprint, tighter than the tolerance we accept on bolt-together kits, and dome and gothic geometries will not forgive base-rail twist. On both brands, we photograph anchor depth and torque on install day — a 20-year warranty is only as good as the documentation you can produce in year twelve.
Pick Accu-Steel if arch geometry fits the job — grain piles that follow the hoop profile, free-stall livestock layouts that use perimeter headroom, fertilizer storage where hot-dipped steel earns its keep against corrosion — or if the 20-year published warranty on both steel and fabric is the decision anchor for a long-hold asset. Get the EnduroLoc spec sheet in the quote so your fabric comparison is on paper, not on trust.
Pick Cover-Tech if your project needs the credentials in the file — CSA A660-10 for insurers and permit offices, ISO 9001 for procurement, CWB-stamped welds — if Canadian manufacture is a requirement, or if the job needs straight walls or gothic height that a hoop profile can't give you. Price the PVC cover upgrade into the quote; the 14 oz PE default is the lighter cover in this matchup on published numbers.
And from either company, put the missing number in writing before you sign: fabric weight from Accu-Steel, frame warranty from Cover-Tech.
Neither publishes pricing, so honest answer: it depends on your quotes. Both price project-specific engineering into the build, and the totals move with width, snow load, cover tier, doors, and freight — Accu-Steel adds US-to-Canada logistics, Cover-Tech builds domestically. Get both quotes at identical dimensions and specs, then compare line items rather than bottom lines.
On paper, Accu-Steel — 20 years covering both steel and fabric, the longest published term in the segment. Cover-Tech publishes 10–15 years prorated against UV breakdown on the cover but does not publish frame warranty terms, which you should request in writing during the quote. Note the structural difference too: prorated coverage diminishes over time, so read both documents, not just the headline years.
More than most buyers expect. Hoop/arch (Accu-Steel) maximizes interior volume per foot of width and suits grain piles and perimeter headroom; gothic and straight-wall designs (Cover-Tech) buy vertical sidewall clearance for pallet racking, doors, and equipment that parks against the wall. Match the profile to how you'll actually load the building before comparing anything else.
